	The Day of Russian Science The SB RAS Presidium congratulation.
	INVITATIONS FOR THE DAY OF SCIENCE On the occasion of the Day of Russian Science celebration February 8, the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has recommended to hold celebratory events at all the scientific centers of the Branch. The "open door" days at the Institutes, meeting with the students and schoolchildren, public visiting of scientific museums and exhibitions are planned.

	PART OF TRADE UNION January 24, 2002 a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Council of Trade Union of the RAS workers has been held in Moscow. Topical questions and problems of the RAS were discussed at the meeting.
	PROFESSORIAL MEETING IN KRASNOYARSK New organization such as the Professorial Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Region has been born last year in Krasnoyarsk. What is this Association, what for it is created and whom it is necessary for?
	CRUCIAL TECHNOLOGY The Government Vice-chairman Ilia Klebanov is sure that Russia could be rescued only through ambitious tasks.
	32 DAYS IN THE DITCH AND FOUR DEBUTS For the first time a sea geological expedition has been carried out aboard the Russian research ship "Academician Ioffe".

	SCIENCE FOR THE REGION Recently President of Republic Buryatiya has visited the Buryat Scientific Center where he acquainted with its developments, took an interest in the problems of scientific researches and collectives. In this connection it`s necessary to state some considerations in what way we fancy about cooperation between regional authorities and institutions engaged in fundamental problems.
	IN AN INDIVISIBLE BUNCH Within the framework of the 4th International All-Siberian Innovation Forum, the 6th All-Russin Universal Research and Industrial Fair Exhibition "Integration" has been held at the Tomsk "TechnoPark". For the first time the Tomsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS was presented by united large-scale exposition there.
	THE MAIN THING IS TO INVENT AN ALGORITHM Elena Kistanova, undergraduate of Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the NSU, scholar of the nominal Academician N.Chebyshev Scholarship. Subject, which Elena has to work at, is flood estimation.
	WINNERS ARE DETERMINED Appointment of the laureates of 2001 has been held at the session of Scientific Council of the Altai State Technical University.
	NOVEL NEWSPAPER ABOUT SCIENTISTS The first issue of "Perspectiva XXI" weekly has been published in Krasnoyarsk. The newspaper is to cover problems of science, education and creativity in the Krasnoyarsk Region.

	THE STANDARDS OF SCIENTIFIC ETHICS The questions of scientific ethics are frequently arising in the life of scientific community. At the same time some private rules accepted in either institute or within the framework of a scientific field often work.
	"LONGWAY DRIVERS" FROM ACADEMGORODOK, OR "SOFTLAB-NSK" ON WORLD ARENA Today, when many people who learn that the authors of the universally known game "Long-way Drivers" are living and working in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok, have not been surprised any more. Though the Americans and Europeans are amazed till now that somewhere in Siberia, among the snows and cold, among "the bears and taiga", there is someone, who not only is able to work with a computer not so bad, but also can create game products sold all over the world rather successfully.

	OPENING OF THE BRASS IN MEMORY OF ANATOLI STAVER Opening of the brass in memory of the Rector of University from 1983 to 1996, the State Prize-winner, Doctor Sc. (Physics and Mathematics) Professor Anatoly Michailovich Staver was held at the entrance of the main building of the Krasnoyarsk State Technical University.

	YOUNG MOUNTAIN-SKIERS BEGINNING FROM VICTORIES January 24, 2002 the Novosibirsk Regional Children and Youth Championship on mountain skiing has been held at the "Kluchi" Mountain Skiing Complex of the SB RAS.
