	POWER ENGINEERING: THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE February, 24 scientific session of Presidium of the Branch "The problems of development of the Russian power engineering" has been opened at the Small Hall of the House of Scientists of the SB RAS.

	"TO REVEAL HUMAN AS A CREATOR …" On the occasion of the 80th anniversary since the expedition of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Yakutia began to work.
	"WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LIFE THAT THERE IS AND WILL BE!" Vice-president of the Presidium of the Irkutsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS, Doctor Sc. (Engineering), Professor Igor Bychkov is a deputy of Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk City.
	THE DAY OF RUSSIAN SCIENCE IN YAKUTSK This year the Day of Science in Yakutsk Scientific Center coincided with anniversary of outstanding scientist, talented organizer of science, public figure and statesman, Academician Nikolai Vasilievich Cherski (1905-1994).
	THE DAY OF SCIENCE IN OMSK
	THE DAY OF SCIENCE IN THE KRASNOYARSK SCIENTIFIC CENTER In Day of Science the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS was visited by Governor of the Territory A.Hloponin. At the meeting with the leaders of the Center the Governor has noted the substantial contribution of Academic science into social and economic development of the Territory. The SB RAS KrSC was mentioned in connection with its role in the realization of innovation potential of the region.
	FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF CHEMICAL SCIENCE The program of the Days of Science of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies of the SB RAS (Krasnoyarsk) included Open Day for schoolchildren and students, a scientific seminar within the framework of the program "Integration of Higher education and Science" and other events.
	THE DAYS OF SCIENCE IN TUVA
	HOLIDAY IN THE KEMEROVO SCIENTIFIC CENTER From February, 7 to February, 11 celebratory actions devoted to the Day of Russian Science have been held in the KemSC of the SB RAS.
	CELEBRATIONS IN IRKUTSK In honor of the Day of Science in the Irkutsk Scientific Center a series of events have been held.
	AT THE SIBERIAN BRANCH OF THE MEDICAL ACADEMY The next session of the Presidium of the RAMS has been held. Two scientific reports were discussed.
	NOVOSIBIRSK: GATHERING OF HIGHER SCHOOL Urgent problems and tasks for 2005 were discussed on February, 22 at the meeting of the teaching staff of higher Education Institutions of the Novosibirsk and the Region.
	ABOUT SPECIAL ECONOMIC AREAS The Russian press before the date (March, 1) of the bill on special economic areas to be presented by the MinEconomDevelopment to the State Duma determined by the RF President, rather actively discusses these questions.
	MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE: RESULTS OF 2004 On February, 14 the board of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF has been held where results of activities of the Ministry and subordinated structures in 2004 have been generalized and working plans for 2005 were considered.
	REFORM OF POWER INDUSTRY TO RESULT IN AN INCREASE OF PRICES Realization of the reform of power industry could result in serious increase in cost price of electric energy. In particular, it is predicted that the prices in the wholesale market to become 2,5 times more in Siberia. Irkutsk scientists have told about it on January, 27 at the Public Hearings on Reforming Power Industry, organized by "The Irkutsk Scientific Assembly".
	NSTU: PRESENTATION OF THE "NORNICKEL" February, 24 presentation of the Mining and Metallurgy Industrial Complex "Norilsk Nickel" has taken place at the Technical University. Students could learn about the requirements of the Company for potential employees.
	GREY BIRD WITH RED MARK Drakes of almost all the species of ducks nesting in Siberia differ with very beautiful color of feathering.
	SIBERIADE 5 volumes about Siberia, issued in Tobolsk and in Tyumen, impress with their scope, the Siberian one indeed.
	MILESTONES AGAIN The first issue of the magazine "MILESTONES. XXI CENTURY" has been published in January, 2005. The magazine is found by well-known Russian economist, Novosibirsk Professor Pavel Oldak. He is the editor-in-chief of the periodical.
	DECLARATION OF LOVE The book "Declaration of love" is a biographic narration about the family tree of Nelly Mironovna Malinovskaya from the end of 18th century to the middle of 20th century.
