	CONGRATULATIONS 75th anniversary from the birth date and 55th anniversary of the working in geology were celebrated by Vsevolod Mihailovich Gavshin, Professor, Doctor Sc. (Geology and Mineralogy).
	FUNDAMENTAL SCIENCES FOR MEDICINE On the first autumn Sunday, September, 4, All-Russian conference "Fundamental sciences for medicine" organized by the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine and the Tomography Center of the SB RAS has started to work at the House of Scientists of the Siberian Branch of the RAS.
	PHYSICS FOR MEDICINE This summer the 8th International scientific and technical conference "Optical methods of flow investigation" has taken place in Moscow where the scientists from the USA, Byelorussia, Ukraine, Germany, Russia have taken part.
	FOLLOWING THE TRACKS OF PRISTINE MEN The International symposium "Population of the Central, Northern and East Asia by pristine men: archeological, paleo-ecological and anthropological aspects" has come to the end; it was held from August, 15 to August, 25 on the base of the Permanent research establishment "Denisova Cave" of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the SB RAS (Mountain Altai).
	ACADEMIC SECTOR OF SCIENCE: THE STATE AND PROSPECTS August, 26 a round table discussion on the topic "Academic sector of science: current condition and medium-term prospect" has taken place in the RF Ministry of Education and Science. The Foundation "Center of economic researches and distribution of economic information ”Open economy”" organized this action.
	PROBLEMS OF THE RF HIGHER EDUCATION September, 20 to 22, 2005 the Novosibirsk State Technical University together with the St.-Petersburg State University and Novosibirsk State University of Economy and Management hold in Novosibirsk an All-Russian scientific conference with International participation "Modernization of national system of higher education and the problems of integration of the Russian higher education institutions into the world educational space".

	SUBJECT TO LIQUIDATION The Government of Russia has ratified the lists of Federal official institutions subordinate to the RosNauka, those are subject to liquidation, reorganization and the subsequent privatization.
