	THE SB RAS PRESIDIUM MEETING
	INDIA IS INTERESTED IN TEAMWORK Irkutsk was visited by the delegation of India led by Minister for science, technologies and oceanic development Kapil Sibal.
	MESSAGES
	THE NOVOSIBIRSK PHILOLOGIST IS A WINNER OF THE ACADEMIC COMPETITION Igor Silantiev , Doctor of Philology, Professor, Deputy director of the Institute of Philology of the SB RAS, author of more than 100 scientific works, including 14 books on the theory of literature and semiotics, technique of teaching Russian and literature. In 2005 the scientist is named a winner of the competition «Outstanding scientists. Doctors and Candidates of sciences» of the Foundation for the assistance to national science.
	TREASURY OF KNOWLEDGE Rows of texts, from huge volumes up to microscopic book miniatures in Tibetan and old-literary Mongolian languages are passing daily through the hands of the researchers of the Center of East manuscripts and Xylography of the Institute of Momgolology, Buddhology and Tibetology the SB RAS.
	BURGS AND SIBERIAN SILVER Archaeological researches are conducted during already four years in the territory of the first State settlement of the Novosibirsk Region, the Umrevinski Burg. Very interesting archaeological materials are found out, however the most basic is the question why this burg three hundred years ago has been founded namely here?
	MUSHROOMS GRANTING HEALTH At the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the SB RAS the methods are developed for complex estimation of medical properties of mushrooms, capable to help against many severe diseases.
	THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NITROXYL RADICALS IS IN SIBERIA AGAIN! The International conference will be held in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok from September, 20 to September, 24, 2005.
	INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE INTAS IN NOVOSIBIRSK The International conference on geometry and topology of three-dimensional varieties has been held from, August 13 to August 27 at the S.L.Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of the SB RAS and the Gorno-Altaisk State University.
	JEWELS SERVING TO HIGH TECHNOLOGIES The Group of companies «New brilliants of Siberia» (NBS) is planning to develop in Novosibirsk a manufacture of infra-red single crystals for micro- and optoelectronics.

	ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST TEXTBOOK OF COMPUTER SCIENCE Twenty years ago the schoolchildren of the Soviet Union have received the first textbook of computer literacy: «The bases of informatics and computer engineering». The circulation of this book in Russian has made more than three million, many thousand copies have been issued in translation into all languages of the union republics.
	PROFESSIONAL RETRAINING OF PROGRAMMERS THROUGH THE INTERNET The Internet University for professional retraining on computer science and programming continues to work. Since October, 15 a new admission, the third one on account, is declared.
	THE BIRD FLU: THUS WHO DOES WHOM INFECT?
