	ON THE OCCASION OF THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF ACADEMICIAN DMITRI GEORGIEVICH KNORRE Congratulation of the SB RAS Presidium.
	PERPETUAL PATH OF DISCOVERIES On the twenty eighth of July Academician Dmitri Georgievich Knorre is 80 years old.
	«… ON THE OTHER HAND AN ARROW FLIES FAR» The director of the Institute of System Dynamics and Control Theory of the SB RAS mathematician and cyberneticist Stanislav Vasiliev has a double holiday. At the end of May he was elected an Academician of the RAS, and July, 5 he has been 60 years old.
	«A CORRECT RESULT SHOULD BE BEAUTIFUL!» Doctor Sc. (Engineering), Professor Eduard Bondarev will soon celebrate his anniversary.
	HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Vladimir Nikolaevich Emich is 70.
	PLEASE PUT IN A WORD FOR POOR BOTGARDEN Academician Igor Koropachinski shares his reflections about the missions of botanical science and a botanical garden, about the past and the future of the latter, about the place of the Central Siberian Botanical Garden among other scientific institutes, about role in the Academgorodok’s life.
	PROFESSIONAL TRAINING: FOR ITSELF AND FOR THE REGION The Central Siberian Botanical Garden of the SB RAS, the leading botanical establishment of the Asian Russia, alongside with the solving of scientific problems, propagation of botanical and ecological knowledge not only provides its needs for top-skilled personnel, but carries out more an important task such as training of professionals for high schools, botanical gardens, reserves, experimental stations over the territory from Ural up to the Far East.
	HERBARIUM, THE BASIS OF BOTANICAL STUDIES The anniversary is good, but one has not the slightest wish to speak about it in the present situation. There is a somewhat anguish feeling because of something unfinished, untold as well as due to the lack of clear prospects and the possibilities to change anything. To change to the best, more light, more joyful.
	THE MUSHROOM EMPIRE OF SIBERIA In Western Siberia the foundation of mycology, the science of mushrooms was laid in 1928 in the Tomsk University. In the Novosibirsk, the studies on mushrooms began since 1946 at the recently based West Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
	HEADING TOWARD INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION Last week the Novosibirsk Scientific Center was visited by a delegation of the State Academy of Sciences of the Korean People's Democratic Republic, headed by vice-president of the KPDR SAN.

	OBSCURANTISM ON AIR OF THE 1ST TV CHANNEL Documentary film about archeological dig in the Republic Mountainous Altai became an unprecedented example of journalistic non-professionalism and propagation of harmful superstitions.
	SILICON - 2006 The third Russian meeting on the growth of silicon crystals of and films and on the studies of their physical properties and structural perfection ("Silicon - 2006") has been held in Krasnoyarsk from July, 4 to July, 6, 2006.
	MECHANOCHEMISTRY AND MECHANICAL ALLOYING The Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the SB RAS has held a large-scale International conference «Mechanochemistry and mechanical alloying» at the House of Scientists of the Siberian Branch.
	THE PROSPECTS OF INFORMATICS SYSTEMS On June, 27-30, 2006 the A.P. Ershov Institute of Informatics Systems of the SB RAS held the Sixth International Conference «The prospects of Informatics Systems». The conference was devoted to the 75th anniversary from the birth date of outstanding scientist, the founder of the Siberian school of Informatics Academician Andrei Petrovich Ershov (1931-1988).
	ATMOSPHERE UNITES THE SCIENTISTS From July, 2 to July 7 the 13th International Symposium «Optics of atmosphere and ocean. Atmosphere physics» has been held in Tomsk.
	YOUNG SCIENCE At the end of June - the beginning of July the fifth International School of young scientists and specialists has been held. The representative forum «Environmental Physics» has been dated for the 70th anniversary of ionosphere research in Russia.
	ITS EXAMPLE, A LESSON FOR THE OTHERS Many people still keep in mind the history of a year back with the sale of buildings of Technological Design Institute of Scientific Instrument Engineering of the SB RAS when together with the floor space of the Special Design Office of Geology a federal property has been sold.
	NEW MEETINGS ON THE AMUR RIVERBANK June, 27-28 the Siberian Branch of the RAS has organized an exhibition of the Institutes’ scientific and applied developments in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
	«WITH WORK I BECOME FAMOUS» An exhibition «From the history of invention», dedicated to the Day of Inventor and Rationalizer has been opened at the Branch of the State Public Scientific Technical Library of the SB RAS in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok.
	FESTIVAL OF THE KOREAN CULTURE IN THE ACADEMGORODOK At the midday of July, 15 the center of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok was resounded with invocatory sounds of drums.
	THE NOVOSIBIRSK THRIATHLON July, 9 the eighteenth regional competitions on the Olympic triathlon have taken place in the Academgorodok.
