	PATHWAY AND BREAD OF SCIENTIST On July 26, 2010 Vladimir Eliferyevich Nakoryakov marks the 75th anniversary of his birth. Being the Academgorodok old resident, he made a bright way from an entrant post-graduate student to a venerable academician, one of the world’s leading academic authorities on physical and industrial mechanics and power engineering.
	READY TO WORK IN RESPONSE On July 26, President of the Russian Federation Medvedev D.A has handed over a high award to Academician Ershov Yu. L. – the Order of Merit for the Fatherland of III degree.
	DAME COMMANDER OF TWO ORDERS Olga Pavlovna Frolova, Professor of the Novosibirsk State University, a brilliant expert in eastern languages, under the Decree of the RF President, has been awarded with the Medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland of II degree.

	NEW HORIZONS OF THE HUMANITY The Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Yakutsk Scientific Centre, the Institute of the Humanities and the Indigenous Peoples of the North, the Ministry of Science and Vocational Training of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), the Academy of Sciences of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) will host the All-Russian Scientific Session “New horizons of the humanity of Russia: regional measurement” (to the 75th anniversary of the date of setting up the Institute of the Humanities and the Indigenous Peoples of the North of the SB RAS) on September 23-25.
	TERMS OF COMPETITION HAVE BEEN PROLONGED The terms of submission of theses for participation in the poster session of the III International forum on Nanotechnologies and at the III International competition of scientific works of young scientists in the area of nanotechnologies, have been prolonged till September 1.
	REGULATION OF GENOME STABILITY The Russian-Swiss Conference “Regulation of Genome Stability by Processes of DNA replication and reparation” has taken place in early July in Saint Petersburg.
	THE BAIKAL READINGS The Scientific Conference “Baikal readings: nanostructured systems and actual problems of mechanics of the continuous medium (theory and experiment)” has taken place in Buryatiya on Lake Baikal on July 19-22, 2010.
	BASALTOPLASTIC COMPOSITES FOR THE NORTH The Scientific and Technical Seminar “Basaltoplastic Composites for the North” has been held at the Larionov Institute of the Physical-Technical Problems of the North of the SB RAS on July 21-24.
	GOLD AS THE STATE RESERVE Under conditions of the economic crisis, the interest in gold has increased. Leaving apart many aspects of use of this many-sided phenomenon, we consider just one perspective. Our topic will be a condition of monetary gold which is included in the mechanism of exchange policy.
	RECOVERY OF ETHNOGENETIC PORTRAITS For nearly forty years the systematic studying of the Siberian peoples genofond has been carried out at the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the SB RAS. The genofond of a human population is an integrated totality of the genetic information being common to all members of the group under investigation.

	NOVOSIBIRSK THRIATHLON – 2010 Thriathlon is an Olympic kind of sport that includes a swim, bike and run race. In Novosibirsk the thriathlon has appeared in 1988, and this is already the 22nd regular start. The unusual for that time kind of sports became very popular with the city dwellers and it has “matured” from year to year.
	TOURNAMENT FOR N.N.OZEROV PRIZES On August 14-15, the prizes of Nikolay Nikolaevich Ozerov will be handed out on courts of the NSU confined to the All-Russian Athlete’s Day.
