	ON THE WAY TO THERMONUCLEAR POWER An Agreement on Scientific and Engineering Cooperation has been signed between the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of SB RAS and the Research Center Forschungszentrum Julich (Germany) on May 27.
	HERO OF ANNIVERSARY Alexander Ilyich Fedorov will be 90 on June 2, 2011.
	SOUL IS ACCUSTOMED TO WORK Alexander Ilyich Fedorov, Doctor of Philology, participant of the Great Patriotic War, fighting pilot, will mark his 90th birth anniversary on June 2. On the eve of his anniversary he has visited our editor’s office.
	GOOD DEEDS OF ACADEMICIAN YANENKO CONTINUE The International Conference “Modern Problems of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics”, devoted to memory of Academician Nikolay Nikolaevich Yanenko has started in Novosibirsk on May 31.
	BEGINNING The Fifth, Jubilee Ershov’s Lecture, devoted to the 80th birth anniversary of Academician A.P.Ershov, whose name the Institute bears, has been read at the Institute of Informatics Systems of SB RAS on April 19, 2011.
	TO CREATE ENVIRONMENT FOR INNOVATIONS According to the rating made by experts from the Fund “Petersburg Policy” and the Academy (former Academy of National Economy) attached to the RF President, within recent three months, the city of Tomsk has occupied leading positions in the rating of innovational activity of the Russian regions. And the XIV Tomsk innovational forum "INNOVUS" has become one of the basic events in innovational sphere.
	LITHIUM OF RUSSIA The All-Russian Scientific-Practical Meeting with the International participation “Lithium of Russia” has taken place in Novosibirsk Academgorodok on May 24-26.
	AT THE INP PLASMA LABORATORIES In last year’s Autumn, the Novosibirsk State University has become a winner of the competition hosted by Ministry of Education and Science with the purpose to financially support the researches, carried out under the guidance of one of the leading scientists having the world recognition. In particular, one of the grants supported by the Ministry, was the project in physics, having a purpose to create in the NSU Laboratories of perspective researches for millimeter and terahertz radiation.
	WHAT KIND OF EXCITEMENT DOES SOLAR TERMINATOR PRODUCE Six young employees of the Irkutsk Institutes have received premiums named after the outstanding scientists of SB RAS being awarded every two years.
	GAS HYDRATES: HOPE AND DANGER Ph.D.in Physics and Mathematics Igor Rozhin works as Senior Researcher at the Institute of Oil and Gas Problems of SB RAS in Yakutsk - Laboratory of Man-Made Gas Hydrates. And he works successfully, from the beginning, that is from his first steps into science.
	SIBERIAN GROUND CAN GIVE BIRTH TO ITS OWN NEWTONS The first collection of articles of young scientists from institutes and divisions of the ISC of SB RAS, whose works in the past year were distinguished with premiums and awards, has been published.
