	AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRIME MINISTER An open letter to the address of the RF Prime Minister V.V.Putin on the necessity of urgent increase of financing of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Humanitarian Scientific Fund has been published on the Scientific.ru website.
	THE MICHAEL DAY PROGRAM For the seventh time Academgorodok celebrates the Michael Day. We invite you to the celebration devoted to the 300th birth anniversary of M.I.Lomonosov, to be held on November 19 at the House of Scientists of SB RAS.

	SB RAS IS ON TOP OF THE WORLD At the period covering November 2 through November 4, the delegation of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences at the invitation of President of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology has paid an official visit to the city of Kathmandu, and has taken part in the General Assembly of Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia — AASA.
	M.M.ODINTSOV’S DIAMOND “ODYSSEY” The outstanding scientist, founder of the East Siberian school on studying geological structures, magmatism and diamond content of the Siberian platform, Corresponding Member of RAS Mikhail Mikhailovich Odintsov, if still living, would be 100 on November 5 this year.

	THE NORTH DEMANDS NEW DECISIONS The All-Russian Scientific - Practical Conference “Geomechanical and geotechnological problems of effective development of solid mineral deposits of northern and northeast regions of Russia” has been held in Yakutsk from September 13 through September 15.
	“SIMEXPO - SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTATION – 2011” The 5th International specialized exhibition of devices and equipment for scientific researches has taken place in Moscow from October 24 through October 27.
	“CHEMISTRY – 2011” The XVI International Exhibition of Chemical Industry and Science has been held in Moscow “Expocentre” from October 24 through October 27.
