	THE MEGA-PROJECT IS A BREAKTHROUGH IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF WORLD STANDARDS The helio-geophysical complex, or as scientists call it - megaproject, proposed by the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of SB RAS, is of great national importance. In fact, it is a major national program aimed at solving the most urgent fundamental and applied problems in the development of near-Earth space.

	SCIENCE IN NORTHERN PERFORMANCE The Institute of Physical and Technical Problems of the North of SB RAS was founded in 1970 on the basis of the Department of cold resistance machines and metal structures, the Energy Department and the Laboratory of heat and mass transfer of the Permafrost Institute of Yakutsk Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The main lines of research are material sciences and technologies for extreme conditions of the North.
	GENE FACTORY IS A USEFUL THING This is a story about the possibilities that give to scientists the synthesis of genes, about biomedical research and biotechnology developments, as well as about those works that are underway at the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine of SB RAS to create the DNA microchip synthesizer.

	AT THE PRESIDIUM OF SB RAMS
	THE YEAR OF HISTORY HAS STARTED AT SPSL In March the SB RAS SPSL Lecture Hall has resumed its work with two lectures from the series “Russian history. Power. Society. Personality. XX Century”. The cycle of lectures has been prepared by the Department of National History of Novosibirsk State University in framework of the Year of Russian History declared as such under presidential decree.
