	WHOSE MIND IS HAUNTED BY “CARTHAGE”? Judging from some media publications, the attacks on the Russian Academy of Sciences have not stopped. We can assume that on the eve of the next elections of RAS leaders, they would only intensify.
	ONCE AGAIN ABOUT FALSITY AND TRUTH – BRIEF COMMENTS
	GLOBAL LEADERSHIP AND CHAIR OF SPARTACUS A program of development for the Novosibirsk National Research State University, aimed at joining the top 100 QS University rankings, has been approved at the end of 2012.
	VOICE IN THE DESERT OF RATINGS According to the European Association of Universities, there are approximately 17,000 universities the world over. In Russia, there are more than a thousand of higher educational establishments, most of which are not known as universities only due to the Russian tradition. This alone shows that the purpose of universities in Russia can not be joining them the top 100 any international rankings.

	NEW PROSPECTS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN SCIENTISTS OF SIBERIA AND KYRGYZSTAN In the framework of cooperation between scientists of the Novosibirsk Scientific Center with research groups of Academies of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia, Siberian archaeologists and weapon experts yet from the Soviet times take part in joint works.
	ONE MAN DOESN’T MAKE A TEAM Director of the Tomsk Branch of Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics of SB RAS A.K. Golovko has won the prestigious competition for the professorial scholarship of Tomsk region governor.

	51st ISSC The 51st International Scientific Student Conference “Student and Scientific- Technological Progress” will be held at the Novosibirsk State University from April 12 through April 18.
	REPUTABLE LEADER – GUARANTEED PATH TO SUCCESS This year there will be big changes in the staff of United Council of Young Scientists of the Irkutsk Scientific Center of SB RAS, which includes the chairmen of Council of Young Scientists of ten institutes and subdivisions.
	CHELYABINSK-2013: WHAT COULD IT BE? For the week that has passed since the fall of the meteorite near Chelyabinsk, there appeared a lot of new information about itself and the consequences of the explosion. It is becoming increasingly clear, that the Chelyabinsk had really good luck – be the track passage only 30 km more declined to the north, and the angle of entry into the atmosphere a little bit bigger, consequences for the city with a population over one million could be quite different.
	METEORITES PASSION Among the peculiarities of the Chelyabinsk meteorite - the observability of the event just before it happened, while fixing its dynamics from different points of observation and photographing, as well as ease of detailed studying immediately in the wake of the event. The scale and occurrence for the analysis of event and making conclusion are rather favorable. And one of the problems for professionals and the media - is to remove fear, including those who did not witness the event.
	DAY OF SCIENCE AT THE CENTRAL SIBERIAN BOTANICAL GARDEN OF THE SB RAS Excursions to the Botanical Museum of Siberia, research laboratories, greenhouses of tropical and subtropical plants, Herbarium, Winter garden have been arranged for visitors of the Central Siberian Botanical Garden.
	DAY OF SCIENCE AT THE KUTATELADZE INSTITUTE OF THERMOPHYSICS OF SB RAS
	A YEAR OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION 2013 has been declared the Year of Environmental Protection in Russia. In the Irkutsk region, it has started with the Children's forum, held in late January.
	AT THE PRESIDIUM OF SB RAMS
	WITH LOVE ABOUT SNAKES A regular “Academic Hour” at the Central City Library named after K. Marx in frames of the Days of Science, has been devoted to snakes, their genetics and ecology. Employee of the Institute of Systematics and Ecology of Animals, Ph.D.in Biology Yevgeny Simonov has delivered the lecture.
	WE ARE USED TO OVERCOME HARDSHIPS ON OUR OWN A new semester for the Chinese students begins on March 4. Exactly from this date, students of the Sino-Russian Institute of Harbin will study specialized subjects in Russian, and teachers from the Novosibirsk State University will read the lectures.
	TOWARDS THE STARS The Novosibirsk Children and Youth Center “Planetarium” marks one-year anniversary on the Day of Russian Science, February 8.

	SENSE OF PRIDE IN RUSSIA The VII All-Russian ski race Academiad has been held in Tomsk in mid-February. The Tomsk Scientific Center of SB RAS has had the honor of hosting it.
