	NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF BELARUS: TOWARDS DEVELOPMENT Celebrations devoted to the 85th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have taken place in Minsk on January 23-24. The ceremony was attended by a delegation of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
	WORK DONE, HAVE YOUR REFORM ... A traditional Press Conference on the Day of Russian Science has been held at the Representation of the RF President in SFD on February 3.

	IN THE SHADOW OF ANGKOR: AT CONGRESS OF ARCHAEOLOGISTS OF INDO-PACIFIC REGION The 20th Congress of the Indo-Pacific Prehistoric Association, which presented new data on the archeology and ancient history of the vast region, has been held in Cambodia in January.
	“JUST KEEP WORKING ...” In recent years, the interest of scientists from all over the world to the problems of detonation has been growing - now it is being examined in different countries, organizations and laboratories. This phenomenon is multifaceted, with a variety of approaches, methods of basic research and the potential outputs and applications. And in each case, some details are introduced into the overall picture. The Institutes of the Siberian Branch of RAS, including the M.A. Lavrentiev Institute of Hydrodynamics, are being involved in the problems of detonation.
	NOVOSIBIRSK DENDROPARK. EDGES OF BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY The Novosibirsk dendropark was created in the difficult postwar years by hands and intelligence of botany enthusiasts and foresters. Despite all the hardships, it still remains the testing ground for existence and studies of the unique floral and faunal complex within the limits of the Siberian metropolis.
	LASER PHYSICS AND DIAGNOSIS OF DISEASES Employees of the Irkutsk Branch of Institute of Laser Physics of SB RAS, together with doctors from the Irkutsk Regional Hospital are examining the problems associated with diseases of the cardiovascular system.
	THE HARVESTS WILL BE BIGGER IN SIBERIA Students of the Irkutsk Technical University in collaboration with the Siberian Institute of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry of SB RAS have been developing a complex technology to increase the efficiency of greenhouses in Siberia.
	THE BEST EDITION OF SB RAS IN 2013 The monograph “The concept of reliability in the electric power industry”, prepared with the participation of scientists from the Melentiev Energy Systems Institute of SB RAS, has been recognized as the best book of the Siberian Branch of RAS in 2013 in the area of energy, mechanics, engineering and management processes.
