	ANOTHER PAGE HAS BEEN TURNED IN THE 300-YEAR HISTORY OF ACADEMY The General Meeting of members of the Russian Academy of Sciences having adopted the fateful decision to merge three State Academies and approved the Charter of the RAS, has been held in Moscow on March 27. And two days before that, scientists have gathered at a Conference of researchers, with the purpose to develop a consolidated position on the eve of this important event.

	MORE VALUABLE THAN SILVER AND GOLD On the eve of the Day of Geologist we had a conversation with a very interesting person - Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences V.V. Ryabov. As a geologist he passed through almost all the Siberian platform area, having explored it thoroughly, moreover, by fate, he began examining such a rare natural formation as native iron.

	TO FIND COMMON INTERESTS The Youth Russian-British Scientific Seminar with the educational component “New types of materials and systems for photonics and sensor systems”, organized by the Institute of Automation and Electrometry of SB RAS together with the Novosibirsk State University with the support of the British Council, has been held at the Institute from March 17 through March 20.
	ACROSS SCIENCE AND INNOVATION The main trend of the new innovative Forum U-NOVUS - is the focus on young people, and therefore the traditional exhibition has a young face. Visitors can get acquainted with the exposition projects of scientists from the Tomsk Scientific Center of SB RAS, also supported by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology. There are five such projects, and they are all very interesting.
	COUNT ON GETTING AHEAD One of the most important trends in the development of research activities and the market of innovative technologies today is to consolidate the efforts of several strong players (academic institutions, leading universities, businesses) that are combined with each other, because only such integration will allow to implement large-scale projects.
