  Joint Use Centre (JUC). Joint Use Centre (JUC). Equipment of the JUC for research of the materials and rocks properties contains presses for triaxial compression under conditions of static and dynamic loading modes at temperature from room temperature till 773 K, operating in the soft (in space of stress) and in tough (in space of strain) loading modes. There is standard equipment for preparation works. Location - «Zelyonaya Gorka» («Green Hill»). The technical system for research of dynamic (electromagnetic and ultrasonics) characteristics under failure of different solid-state bodies including rocks and concert structures. Location - the Institute.

Brief description of the JUC equipment:
  1. Stiff press for tests under conditions of triaxial compression under static conditions of loading (type BR-6 of A.N.Stavrogin’s design) allows to carry out triaxial compression of rock samples under conditions of soft and tough loading mode at room temperature.
      Stiffness 2.10 N/m,
      axial thrust 4000 kN
      lateral thrust 400 MPa
    There are no analogues in the Asian Part of the Russian Federation.
  2. Stiff press for tests under conditions of triaxial compressions in the dynamic loading mode (type BR-8 of A.N.Stavrogin’s design) at the room temperature. The press operates on the principle of the compressed fluid expansion.
    Strain rate from 10-3 till 10 +1 l/s.
    There are no analogues in the Asian Part of the Russian Federation.
  3. Universal servohydraulic press allows to carry out tests under tiaxial compression with unequal components for investigations of mechanical and filtering properties of rocks at the temperature interval from room temperature till 773 K:
    - soft and tough loading modes;
    - allows to receive the complete diagram «stress-strain», including the range beyond the ultimate strength;
    - study of the filtering rock properties under conditions of the volumetrically stressed state by determination of pore pressure influence on the mechanical behaviour of rocks under conditions of triaxial compression.

      axial thrust 12000 kN,
      pressure 500 MPa,
      momentary pressure 1000 MPa.
    There are no analogues in the CIS and in the world.
  4. The plant CH-10 - loading of the thin-walled tubular specimens by axial thrust, torque and internal pressure (with independent variation of the applied forces in time) under conditions of normal, high and low temperatures:
      axial thrust 100 kN,
      torque 0,8 kN m,
      internal pressure 100 MPa,
      temperature interval 93 K-873 K.
    There are no analogues in the Asian Part of the Russian Federation.
  5. Universal servohydraulic press Shenk - 250 kN - Sinus 40 - static and dynamic uniaxiality loading in soft and tough modes.
      Axial thrust 250 kN,
      strain rate 10-3 - 10 +1 l/s,
      pulsar +/- 250 kN, frequency 40 Hz, different forms of loading pulses.
There are no analogues in the Asian Part of the Russian Federation.
There is standard equipment for carrying out the preparation works:
  1. Inverted - stage microscope «Axivert 100 A».
  2. Light (optical) microscope MIM-10.
  3. Electron microscope TESLA.
  4. X-ray structural difractometer DRON-3M.
  5. Presses, hardness gauges, micro-hardness gauges, vacuum chamber for carrying out tests under conditions of low and high temperatures.
Equipment of the technical system: - press system for uniaxial loading;
- system of the electrical and magnetic antenna - sensors for electromagnetic radiation;
- system of the strain-measuring device for measurement of loading and strain;
- signal recording system ASI-2;
- soft ware for recording and processing of the electromagnetic radiation signals in real time;
- special small-size devices for recording of the electromagnetic radiation signals under conditions of underground mine workings.
The object - development of the prognostication failure criteria on the base of the electromagnetic signals recording.

Purpose - investigation of the electromagnetic radiation phenomenon, arising by cracking and breaking of rocks and other materials by the use of non-contact method.
Characteristics: one-two or four - channel synchrony system, working in the frequency range till 1 MHz.

Parameters: measurement of the electromagnetic radiation signal amplitude from the first 10µVµ till 5 V, measurement of the load value from 100 N till 300 kN.

Parameters of the information reading:
- number of the channels: 1, 2 or 4;
- digitisation frequency (general and for 1 channel);
- exposure number;
- read out number in the exposure tc.

Uniqueness: the system allows to reveal intercommunication between mechanical and electromagnetic characteristics of the materials at the different stages of their loading in spectral - time images by use of the measuring system ASI-2 and software. The equipment is in serviceable condition. The Centre is located in «Zelyonaya Gorka» («Green Hill»). The conveyance of the research workers from Akademgorodok and Novosibirsk to the working place and for dinner - by bus of the Institute.
The technical system is ready for carrying out the joint investigations. The Institute can take part in the research works, work on probation of specialists (students, postgraduates, research workers) in mentioned subjects.
