is suitable for measurement of local mechanical characteristics and for non-destructive testing of loaded materials on mesoscale level.
TOMSC is designated for research the mechanical state of loaded materials, constructions and part of machines by analysing changes of surface relief during loading simultaneously with measurement of local mechanical properties. For this aim it was worked out two news methods: measurement of displacement vector fields and calculation of fractal dimension for surface. TOMSC is able to treat a large volume of video-information during study in situ. Results allow to elucidate mesiscale mechanisms of deformation and prefracture and to offer the new in principle criteria for non-destructive testing of materials in various loading conditions. In particular there arise the possibility to perform a diagnostics the prefracture state of material long before the appearance of visible micro-cracks, to predict the location of future crack. Parameters of methods. Measurement of displacement vector fields: size of analysed surface areas is from 6x8 mm2 to 0,06x0,08 mm2 (in scanning regime one can measure any surface area), displacement vector density 5,6.101 - 5,6.105 mm-2, absolute error for measurement of a displacement vector no more than +/-0,1% of area size. Calculation of fractal dimension: size of tested surface 1-3 mm2, measurement time no more than 5 min. There is opportunity for unambiguous identification of plastic deformation stages and the prefracture state for a material. TOMSC includes test machines IMASh-20-78 and Schenck Sinus-100.40 which equipped by TV-optic measuring systems and also one includes scanning electron microscope REM-200, scanning tunnel microscope SMM-2000T with special loading device. TOMSC is the unique measuring system and it was no any analogues.Potential partners from EU countries are:
