	MEETINGS IN ULAN-UDE August, 24, 2009 under the direction of the RF President D.A.Medvedev in Ulan- Ude, the capital of Republic Buryatiya, a meeting has taken place concerning the problems of social and economic development of the Siberian Federal District.
	NEW OPPERTUNITIES OF COOPERATION August, 26, signing the memorandum of intentions between the Siberian Branch of the RAS and the leading International company of "Samsung Electronics" has taken place at the Novosibirsk Academgorodok.
	EXTENDING THE HORIZONS OF COOPERATION August, 14 to 18, according to the invitation of the leaders of the Siberian Branch of the RAS the Novosibirsk Academgorodok was visited by the delegation of the Vietnamese Academy of Sciences and Technologies.
	THREE DAYS IN AUGUST From August, 11 to August, 13, 2009 the Chairman of the Siberian Branch of the RAS Academician A.L.Aseev stayed in Moscow. August, 11 it took part in the working of Scientific and technical Council of the “RusNano” State corporation.

	RECOLLECTING NIKOLAI NIKOLAENICH BOGOLIUBOV August, 21 the Russian and world-wide scientific community have celebrated the 100th anniversary from the birthday of Academician N.N.Bogoliubov, outstanding physicist and mathematician, the founder of several scientific schools in theoretical and mathematical physics.
	COAL KUZBAS PASSING TO THE INNOVATION WAY OF DEVELOPMENT This year we are celebrating the Day of Miner in difficult conditions. The global financial and the economic crisis, being the hardest and, probably, having no analogues in the history has shaken all the economy. It could not pass by our country too, closely connected with the world markets and building a modern market economy.
	THE COORDINATION FUR THE SAKE OF "THE SECOND COAL WAVE" The major event of last years is the development and acceptance in February, 2009 of the SB RAS research program for the coal Kuzbass. The program includes 127 works, 20 from those were selected for application in this year; it offers a lot of important developments in the field of technologies for coal mining and processing, safety, coal-mining mechanical engineering.
	THE "MINER'S" FAMILY GROWING AND GETTING STRONGER We constantly inform the readers of the "Sciences in Siberia" about scientific successes the researchers of the Institute of Mining of the SB RAS. Today, before the Day of Miner that is considered at the Institute as a professional holiday, we would like to tell about the important problems solved by trade- union activists for the creation of favorable working conditions and leisure for the collective.
	TOWARD THE MISTERIES OF MAGMATIC PROVINCES The second International symposium "Large magmatic provinces, mantle plums and metallogeny " was held August, 6 to 9, 2009 in Novosibirsk at the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy of the SB RAS.
	CONFERENCE SCHOOL FOR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH From July, 13 to July, 18 in the Sverdlovsk Region an International conference school of young scientists on catalysis "Catalytic design".
	FOR THE EXPERTS IN THE LIBRARIANSHIP The Branch of the State Public Scientific Technical Library of the SB RAS, being the central library at the Novosibirsk Scientific center, for the first time has organized and held exit an out seminar school.
	SOLVING THE PROBLEMS TOGETHER The first Siberian conference of the Trade union of the RAS workers took place from August, 10 to August, 15 at the "Enhaluk" recreation center at the lakeside of Baikal.

	"GOLD" FOR CHEMISTRY For three years running the Novosibirsk schoolchildren win in the All-Russian Olympiad in Chemistry. This year its winner is Oleg Salnikov, the graduate of the Academician M.A.Lavrentiev lyceum No 130, has gone further. At the end of July Oleg has brought a gold medal of the International Olympiad in Chemistry.
