	STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP An Agreement on cooperation has been signed between the Siberian Branch of RAS and the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University in Novosibirsk on May 11.
	PLASMA, FEMTOSECONDS AND SUPERSHORT PULSES The solemn assembly, devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Institute of Laser Physics has been held at the House of Scientists of SB RAS on May 7.
	ACADEMIC ROBE OF HONORABLE PROFESSOR - TO ACADEMICIAN TROFIMOV For the first time Director of the A.E.Favorsky Institute of Chemistry of SB RAS Academician B.A.Trofimov, the scientist from Russia, has been chosen by the Academic Council of Chemical Faculty of the St.-Petersburg University as Honorable Professor of Chemical Faculty of the University.

	TO VERIFY HISTORY BY PHYSICS From April 10 through April 14, the 6th International Symposium “Radiocarbon and Archeology” has been held in Paphos (Cyprus) wherein the perspectivity of interdisciplinary researches has been shown once again.
	WORLD MINING CONGRESS The representative International Forum “Coal in the World Economy” has been held in Kemerovo from May 4 through May 6.
	WIDE SPECTRUM OF DIRECTIONS The 24th regular All-Russian Youth Conference “Lithosphere Structure and Geodynamics” has been held at the Institute of the Earth's Crust of SB RAS from April 19 through April 24.
	SCHOOLCHILDREN HAVE MET ACADEMICIANS AT THE SB RAMS The Meeting of representatives of the Novosibirsk City Council, Executive Authorities of the SB RAS, SB RAMS and RAAS with pupils of senior classes, heads and teachers of Novosibirsk has been held at the building of Medical Academy within the framework of city’s Days of Science on May 4, 2011.
