	ORIENTALISTS ALL OVER THE WORLD CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY OF IMBTS The jubilee events in honor of the 90th anniversary of the Institute for Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies of SB RAS have been completed in Buryatia.
	THE BURYAT STATE UNIVERSITY IS 80 The Buryat State University was founded in 1932 as the Buryat State Pedagogical Institute, and has become a classic University in 1995.

	TSUNAMI EXPERTS HAVE GATHERED IN NOVOSIBIRSK A scientific and technical meeting on fundamental and applied problems of the development of Russian tsunami warning system has taken place at the Institute of Computational Technologies of SB RAS from October 8 through October 12.
	RUSSIAN RESEARCH LIBRARIES: A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE The Interregional Scientific Conference “Research Libraries of Russia: A Look into the Future” has been held at the SPSL of SB RAS from September 26 through September 28. It has become one of the largest scientific forums in Russia.
	CURRENT PROBLEMS OF MAMMALOGY The All-Russian Scientific Conference has been held near the Novosibirsk Academgorodok from September 18 through September 22.
	MODERN WORLD AND ETHNONATIONAL PROCESSES The All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation “Modern World and Ethnonational Processes”, dedicated to the Year of unity and friendship among peoples, has been held in the Yakutsk Research Center on September 20-21.
	NEW COOPERATION FORMAT In early October, researchers of two academic institutions - the Institutes of Philosophy and Law of the Siberian and Ural Branches of RAS – have gathered in Novosibirsk for conducting the workshop in frames of SB RAS basic research partnership project “New paradigms of social knowledge”.
	DEVOTED TO THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF RUSSIAN AVIATION The Sixth International Exhibition “Aerospace Technologies, Modern Materials and Equipment. Kazan-2012” has started its work at the exhibition complex “Kazan Fair” on August 14.
	INTERNATIONAL ECOLOGICAL STUDENT CONFERENCE MESC-2012 will be held from October 26 through October 28 at the Novosibirsk State University.
	“KAINSK ZAIMKA” PROJECT IS BECOMING REALITY The foundation meeting of the “Sigma” house-hold cooperative amounting to 1016 persons, including scientists, engineers and technical workers, young scientists, young families and families with dependent children. All of them are involved in science.

	CATS AND GENES The first Academic Hour in this academic school year was devoted to biology, namely, genetics. The lecture has been read by Pavel Mikhailovich Borodin, Doctor of Sciences (Biology), Head of the Laboratory of Institute of Cytology and Genetics of SB RAS.
	AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF VETERANS The USSR Master of Sports Peter Kalantaev (ICMMG of SB RAS) has won the silver medal at the World Championship of Weightlifting among veterans.
