Free boundary problems are chracterized by their rich content and a variety of applications: from technological proceses to the environmental problems and problems of efficient nature management. In 2002 and 2005 in Biisk there were held two conferences devoted to free boundary problems. There particiapted scientists from over 20 organizations from 12 Russian cities as well as scientists from foreign countries. Informal cooperation of mathematicians and physicists, theorists and experimentalists contributed to enrichment of conference subjects and establishment of professional contacts.

Conference Topics:

• Surface and internal waves. Stratified flows.
• Interaction between waves and deformable constructions.
• Wave motion of thin films. Thermocapillary convection.
• Phase transitions in moving media.
• Processes of interphase interaction in heterogeneous systems.
• Magnetohydrodynamics and electrohydrodynamics flows with a free surface.

Registration:

The Conference Organizing Committe received 117 submissions. 87 of them were selected for oral presentation and 30 were selected for the poster session. The conference program will be published on Conference website after June 10, 2008. Also it will be available at the registration. You can download preliminary program here.

The registration fee of 200 EUR should be paid in cash on arrival. We will not accept payments by credit cards or any other way of payment. Regsitration fee includes conference organization costs and excursion to Teletskoe Lake (not including the accomodation costs on Teletskoe Lake).

VISA

You will receive an official invitation by post before June 1, 2008. You also need to contact the Russian Consulate in your country to figure out what documents, besides the official inviation, are needed to receive the Russian visa and schedule an appointment at the Consulate.

Additional information:

The Conference will take place in well-found lecture-rooms of Biisk Technological Institute. The Organizing Committee will help the participants to book rooms in the city hotels. Interactive map of Biisk

Approximate hotel costs for conference participants (breakfasts are included):

• 2-bedroom room, per person, depending on room category – 500; 700; 1000 RUB.
• 1-bedroom room, per category - 800; 900; 1100; 1700 RUB.
• Luxury rooms: 1-bedroom - 2200; 2700; 3200 RUB;
  2-bedroom - 3400; 4400 RUB (price is given per room).

Prices are fixed in Russian rubles. Use a currency convertor to convert the given price in Rubles to your currency. To book the hotel please e-mail the secretary of the Organizing Committee Elena Meshcheryakova and indicate: room type (1-, 2-bedroom, or luxury), room price, arrival date, depature date and number of nights. Please e-mail us your preferred room booking before June 1, 2008.
