PRESENTATION

Duration of the plenary lectures is 40 minutes, oral presentations – 15-30 minutes including time for questions. Scientific Committee kindly asks to confirm participation before June 1, 2005 to avoid drastic changes in the scientific program.
Overhead facilities and beamer for the projection of computer- or video signal on the screen will be provided. It is recommended that you prepare computer presentations in *.ppt format (Microsoft Power Point from the package MS Office) and save on CD (CD-RW).
Posters should be not more than 130 cm wide and 100 cm high. They should be readable from 2 m distance.

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES

The Book of Abstracts and CD will be published before the Workshop and distributed to the participants at the registration. The full papers will be published after the Workshop in a Special Issue of BIOGEOSCIENCES in English. Only papers presented at the Workshop will be considered for publication. All manuscripts will be peer reviewed and refereed according to the procedure adopted in this Journal, selected papers will be included in the proceedings volume. The manuscripts should be submitted during the Workshop time. You can find regulations in the attached Guide for Authors (Attachment 1). REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee is 350 Euro for each participant, 175 Euro - for students and accompanying persons. Registration fee includes all Workshop documentation, Welcome reception, 4 lunches, refreshments, social program, and local transportation.

VENUE

The Workshop will be held at the House of Scientists of Novosibirsk Scientific Center (Morskoi prospect, 23, 630090 Novosibirsk, Russia; tel. number: +7 383 3 30 39 80).

WEATHER

The weather in Novosibirsk at the end of June is normally sunny with the temperatures in the range 20-25 Centigrade. We advise you to bring sport and swimming suits. The Organizing Committee hopes that the weather will create a pleasant spirit around the Workshop.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

Participants will be met at the Novosibirsk airport and taken to the hotel by special transport. The Organizing Committee asks the participants to inform in advance about arrival date, time and flight number to arrange the meeting at the airport of Novosibirsk. The representatives of the Organizing Committee will have the transparencies with the Workshop logo.

CURRENCY

The Russian currency is Ruble. One US dollar is currently 27.77 rubles, one Euro is 36 rubles.

ELECTRICITY

The electric current in Russia is 220 V (50 Hz). Plugs and sockets are the same as in the Continental countries of the European Union.

TIME DIFFERENCE

Time in Novosibirsk is 6 hours ahead of GMT.

REGISTRATION

The registration of the participants will take place on June 25, Saturday, from 2 p.m. at the Hotel “Golden Valley”, and on June 26, Sunday, from 8.30 at the House of Scientists.



SOCIAL PROGRAM

The Organizing Committee will suggest a concert and entertaining program to the participants and accompanying persons. Welcome reception will take place on June 26, Sunday, at 7 p.m., Workshop banquet – on June 28, Tuesday, at 7 p.m. (20 Euro).
After the Workshop the participants are welcome to the Post-tour to Altai Mountains, the pearl of the Siberia. The tour starts on June 30, morning and ends on July 4, evening. The price of the tour 270 $US. The payment should be done at the registration by cash. The details are given in (Attachment 2). Please confirm your participation in the tour, or inform the Organizing Committee about your wish to participate.
