Boreskov Institute of Catalysis, SB RAS (Novosibirsk, Russia) and Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (Berlin, Germany) kindly invite you to participate in the Russian-German Seminar on Catalysis “Bridging the Gap between Model and Real Catalysis” to be held on July 9-12, 2007 at the tourist center “Stik Travel” (Altai Mountains), Russia.
The Seminar will follow the III International Conference “Catalysis: Fundamentals and Application” dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Academician G.K. Boreskov. Conference will be held in Novosibirsk, Russia, July 4-8, 2007.

    SCOPE

The Organizing Committee received 60 requests for participation in the Seminar: 20 – from Germany and 40 - from Russia. The Scientific Program will consist of 7 invited plenary lectures and 26 oral presentations. The session topics will cover:

Presentation

The time of presentation (including some time for questions) is 40 min for a plenary lecture and 20 min for an oral presentation. Overhead facilities and beamer for the projection of computer - or video signal on the screen will be provided. It is recommended that you prepare computer presentations in *.ppt format (Microsoft Power Point from the package MS Office) and save on CD.


    LOCATION

The Seminar will be held at the conference hall of the Tourist center “Stik Travel” (The Republic of Altai) situated at the foot of the wonderful Altai Mountains on the bank of the picturesque mountain river Katun, 500 km from Novosibirsk.

Transportation

The participants will be brought to the Seminar venue (7-8 hours) by the special bus starting from the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis (Novosibirsk, prosp. Acad. Lavrentiev, 5) on July 8. Stops at the refreshment places will be arranged where one can buy some snack. Dinner will be offered at the “Stik Travel” upon arrival. The price of the transportation is 45 Euro (one Euro is 34.4 rubles in March, 2007). Time of the bus departure will be definite after receiving the information from the participants about time of their arrival to Novosibirsk.

Return way: the organizers recommend booking the return tickets from Novosibirsk for the night July 13-14, or very early morning, July 14. Participants needed to be accommodated at Novosibirsk hotel should inform the Organizing Committee about that.

Registration

Registration will take place at the “Stik Travel (July 9, 10 a.m.).

Accommodation

The rooms of the different conveniences are booked at the tourist center “Stik Travel”.
The participants will be accommodated in double rooms of Hotels. *One can order the single accommodation in double rooms. The summer prices in Euro per person/per night including VAT are given in the table and the REGISTRATION FORM-2.(meals are not included):

Meals

Dinner (July 8); breakfast, lunch and dinner (July 9,10,11,12); breakfast (July 13) will be arranged at the restaurant of the Tourist center “Stik Travel”. The total price for the meals is 76 Euro per person. Morning and afternoon coffee-breaks will be provided.

Local Transportation

Novosibirsk Airport “Tolmachevo” is located about 30 km from the Akademgorodok. Participants will be met at the Novosibirsk airport by special transport. The Organizing Committee asks the participants to inform in advance about airline, arrival date, time, and flight number to arrange the meeting at the airport.

Time difference

Time in Novosibirsk is 6 hours ahead of GMT.

Social program

The Organizing Committee invites the participants and accompanying persons to Welcome Reception (July 9, at 7.30 p.m.), Banquet (July 10, at 7.30 p.m.), Musical Party (July, 11), the fascinating excursion along Katun-river and trip to Teletskoe Lake. Bus trip to the Teletskoe Lake and sightseeing from the cutter board will be held on July 12. The biggest lake is surrounded by high mountain ridges. It is one of the deepest lakes of Russia (325 m) and it is traditionally regarded as one of Altai’s symbols. In 1998, Altai was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List of cultural and natural properties as representing an important and original centre of biodiversity of mountain plants and animal species in northern Asia, a number of which are rare and endemic. UNESCO List inscribes five natural complexes of Mountainous Altai: Altaisky and Katunsky Reserves, Teletskoe Lake, Belukha Mount and Ukok plateau (http://whc.unesco.org/sites/768.htm).

The participants and accompanying persons can also get the individual excursions: horse rides, rafting and hang glider flights.

Climate

The weather in Altai in the middle of July is sunny with the temperature in the range 25-30oC.


    REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee is 420 Euro for each participant and 210 Euro for accompanying persons, post-graduates and students. The fee covers editorial expenditures, auditorium rent, welcome party, coffee-break beverages, banquet, local transportation, visa support, excursion along Katun-river and one day trip to Teletskoe Lake. Attention, please: the final registration fee was increased owing to one day trip to the Teletskoe Lake.

    ENTRY VISA TO RUSSIA
