ORGANIZERS EXPRESS DEEP GRATITUDE TO

FOR THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE CONFERENCE

Conference Topics:

Scope

         The Organizing committee has received materials from 320 scientists including 280 participants from the NIS (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Byelorussia, Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine) and 40 participants from western countries (Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, UK, USA). The five-day Conference program will consist of 11 plenary and 13 keynote invited lectures, 112 oral presentations and more than 195 posters. The keynote sectional and oral presentations are scheduled in the following parallel sessions:

         Session “ Catalytic reactions in membrane reactors” will be organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the late Professor Vladimir Gryaznov.

         Round Table Discussion-INTAS Day

        The Conference Program will include the Round Table Discussion of ongoing INTAS, INTAS-RFBR projects, the recent activities of INTAS and RFBR and its further perspectives (the official language of Round Table Discussion is English).
Grant holders of selected INTAS and INTAS-RFBR projects (1999-2000) were invited to present oral and poster presentations at sessions of the Conference. The Organizing Committee will publish the abstracts of these presentations in the Book of Abstracts. The Organizers will pay the registration fee only for one grant holder of each INTAS and INTAS-RFBR grant.

        The Organizing Committee also received kind agreement from Prof. W. Hoelderich (University of Technology, RWTH Aachen, Aachen, Germany) to speak a keynote lecture.

Conference language

The official languages of the Conference are English and Russian.

Presentation

        The time of presentation (including 5 min. for questions) is 45 min for a plenary lecture, 30 min for a keynote lecture and 20 min for an oral presentation.
        Overhead projector will be provided (please, use standard transparencies no larger than 250x250 mm). Multi-media (LCD) projector also will be available. Organizers recommend the authors to prepare computer presentations in *.ppt format (Microsoft Power Point from the package MS Office).
        The Organizing Committee kindly asks the authors to prepare their posters in advance. Space for poster is 100 cm width x 100 cm height. Posters should be readable from 2 m distance. The authors are requested to hang their posters in the morning of the corresponding Poster session day according to the Conference schedule.

Publication:

        Upon arrival at the Conference, each registrant will receive the Book of Abstracts and the Final Scientific Program.
        Conference Proceedings will be published in a Special Issue of the Journal “Kinetics & Catalysis “ in English and Russian after the conference. Authors of plenary, keynote, oral and selected poster communications wishing to present the contributions are asked to submit the manuscripts in English both in the duplicate form (2 hard copies) and a diskette at the registration desk. All manuscripts should not exceed 24 pages (A4 format) including tables, artworks and references. Text should be typed 2.0 line spaced using 14 points font ( Guide for Authors ). The name, complete mailing address, telephone number, fax number and E-mail address of the corresponding author should be given on the first page of the manuscript.
        All abstracts of poster presentations are reviewed by the Program Committee. The authors of the posters selected for publication in the Conference’s proceedings volumes will be informed in July.

Publicity

The Organizing committee invites Russian and foreign companies dealing with catalysts and catalytic processes if interested in advertising their products to participate in the Conference. The forms of presentations are as follows: publication of advertising in the Conference proceedings, poster presentation and exhibition of books, journals, information materials and proceedings on the subjects of the Conference. The registration fee depends on the form of presentation and should be discussed with the Organizing Committee.

Additional information:

Location
        The Conference venue will be the Palace of Culture located in the main building of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (Lenin’s Hills, 1). The main building of the University is situated on picturesque hills, within walking distance of metro station “University”. MOSCOW METRO MAP

Meals
Lunches will be arranged at the restaurant of the Palace of Culture. Tickets for 5 lunches will be included in the participant package. Morning and afternoon coffee-breaks will be provided.
For other meals, there are buffets and snack bars at the main building of the University.

Social Program
        The Organizing Committee invites the participants to visit the State Tretyakov Art Gallery – the greatest art museum in Russia housing the largest collection of the Russian art of IX-XXI centuries. Excursions to the Red Square, the Moscow Kremlin and the Armory Museum of the Moscow Kremlin will be also organized.
        A special sightseeing program for accompanying persons will be available.
        All participants are invited to Welcome Reception (October 1). Conference banquet will take place at a local restaurant on October 4. Banquet will be paid in Russian roubles at the registration desk (USD 50).

Transportation
        International Airport Sheremetievo-II is located about 50 minutes from downtown Moscow. Representatives of the Organizing Committee will meet all the participants at Sheremetievo-II (watch for MCR-VI logo) and provide transportation to the hotels. For this service, we need information about your arrival (and departure) date, time, airline and flight number in advance.

Entry Visa to Russia
        All foreign participants need a valid Passport and an entry visa to Russia.
        The Organizing Committee advises the participants to apply for visa directly to the Russian Federation Consulates in your home country without additional help from external travel agencies, which in case with Russia are known to be relatively effective only in tourist visas’applications.
        To arrange visa formalities in time, please send to the Organizing Committee (E-mail: star@catalysis.nsk.su) the following information: family name, first name, passport number, birth date and place, citizenship, affiliation (including phone and fax), dates of entrance and departure, itinerary, as well as the location of the Russian Federation Consulate (city) where you intend to apply for Russian visa (Registration Form-2 visa). Please also send the copy of the 1st and 2nd pages of your passport (with photo) to the Moscow Organizing Committee by fax: +7(095)939-4575 or by e-mail (les@kge.msu.ru) as an attached graphic file. The same data should be send for each accompanying person.
Listed information has to be sent not later than July, 10.
        After receiving these data the Moscow Organizing Committee (MOC) will prepare your official invitation and register it in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RMFA), Moscow. The Consulate Department of RMFA will send an official invitation to the Russian Federation Consulate in your home country by telex. The Organizing Committee will inform you of the number of the RMFA telex by E-mail.
        So to apply for Visa to the Russian Federation Consulate in your home country you need:

Climate
Early October temperature in Moscow is 10-15oC. Sometimes it rains - raincoats and umbrellas are recommended.

Post-conference tour ”The Gold Ring of Russia”
