Multilayered mathematical model of thermal balance virtual cell

The block “ Thermal balance ” is one of modules virtual cell (VC). It is computational program for simulating of the process of reducing aluminum. Updating of the simplified model of thermal balance of work [1] on multilayered circuit VC is considered.

In the following horizontal layers are allocated: alumina; crust; the top and bottom layers of bath; the top and bottom layers of metal; the cathode; a bottom. Thermal balance VC is calculated in three stages:

1. Definition of dynamic side ledge in corresponding layers;

2. Definition of factors of a heat transfer between layers from the decision one-dimensional (on vertical coordinate) task;

3. The decision of the equations of thermal balance for average temperatures in layers of bath and metal.

The multilayered mathematical model allows to take into account thickness crust in the top area of a cell, various thickness ledge in the top and bottom areas of bath and metal.
