Ignition of solid propellant plate under high-temperature jet

Problem of interaction high-temperature reactive gas mixture with semi-infinite solid propellant plate is investigated. The ignition conditions of the plate were determined in the frame work of well know model of burning powder with constant surface temperature when the heat flax into plate is limited by some critical value.

The gas medium is generated due to the water (or liquid methane) evaporation under the action of the impulse electric high-powered discharge in the semi-closed volume and it outflow to ambient space. The presence of non-equilibrium chemical reactions is considered. The number of chemical species and chemical reactions were some dozens.

As result of numerical modeling it was established the presence of ignition zones and non-burning zones (gasification zones) along the surface of solid propellant plate.
