Abstracts

One of the basic purposes at creation of the electronic museum catalogue is coordination of categories of the given and accepted forms of the records used in electronic museum catalogues. It is necessary that any museum at creation of the electronic catalogue of the collection was confidence that this work should not be altered.

Such statement of a problem actually means development of the certain standards of the data on museum subjects which should include definition of categories of the registered data, the form of their record and dictionaries of sufficient and necessary terms. Along with the schema of metadata CIMI, these standards should become a manual, first, to development of catalogues of different kinds of collections, and second to provide the general basis for integration of museum information resources and possible data exchange between museums.

In the report the initial distribution of museum subjects on classes for their subsequent, more detailed classification is considered, on the basis of the museum collections known to authors available in the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Science. Affirms, that such interdisciplinary grouping of types of collections can be used as a manual or for ordering separate collections, or for realization of information search. Offered by authors of the report the list can serve as a manual for a museum practically any direction at creation of own electronic catalogue by it or for any potential user, wished to carry out information search in the catalogue of any museum, distinguished from its own, and in due course a basis for information interchange or generalizations of the data contained in catalogues of various museums.
