Mechanics
The surface of ships and other floating structures is covered by a special "shell", which takes up the impacts of surface waves and protects bearing elements of a vessel. This "shell" represents thin elastic plates (of mild steel or other metal), which are connected along their edge to main structure. The forces at the plate edges are of %acting on places of junction, have a special interest, because hydrodynamics loads are transferred through connection places. As a result during the process exploitation connectors are the weakest points.
