Opisthorchiasis is an actual problem of West Siberia endemic regions, it significantly influences on other diseases manifestation. Opisthorchiasis systemic character is provided to a large extent by the central position of liver in homeostasis and compensatory-adaptive abilities realization. In chronic stage of infestation host-parasite relation stabilization leads to apparently normal indexes of liver function but the metabolic processes relations system is pathological and adaptive reserves are damaged.
In this study biochemical values of liver functions during opisthorchiasis and their reactions to another infectious agents were investigated. Activities of "liver" enzymes and levels of bilirubin, cholesterol and glucose were determined in serum of patients with chronic opisthorchiasis (group 1), chronic hepatitis combined with chronic opisthorchiasis (group 2), ixodes ticks borne borreliosis (ITBB) and chronic opicthorchiasis combined with ITBB (group 3). It was found that in group 2 patients not only cytolysis but also cholestasis values increased (compared with group 1), possibly due to additional break of bile excretion by virus injured hepatocytes. In patients of group 3 cytolysis values were less reactive than in patients with chronic opisthorchiasis. It seems to be connected with changing in immunopathological influence on hepatocytes due to combined effects of opisthorchiasis and ITBB on immune system. At the same time cholestasis values seem to be determined mainly by opisthorchiasis pathogenic factors.
The data obtained reveals that in opisthorchiasis cause changes in biochemical values of liver functions reaction to infectious agents of bacterial or viral nature as well as to specific chemotherapy. Different effects of viral and bacterial infections on immunopathological processes in liver may provide cytolysis enhancing in group 2 and changing in cytolysis values structure in group 3 (bilirubin increase with normal aminotransferase activity). Cholestasis processes seem to be the stable values of helminth injuring of bile excretion, these processes are increased by mixtpathologies.
The results of liver function biochemical values in mixtinfections (opisthorchiasis + hepatitis, opisthorchiasis+ITBB) investigation suggest that opisthorchiasis changes not only immune but also metabolic host reaction to another infectious agents, switches to other level of liver functioning and modifies its adaptation to mixtpathology.
