Yakut Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and Government of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) (Yakutsk)

Purpose. To study peculiarities of coronary artery atherosclerosis in male patients of yakut nationality ill with IHD.

Material and methods. In the cardiologic department of RH ¹1 – NCM 993 patients were hospitalized for 2004-2005, 582 of them diagnosed with IHD. 171 patients had acquired heart disease (AHD), 74 - congentital heart disease (CHD), 82 - arterial hypertension (AH) and the rest 84 – other diseases. Coronaroangiography was administered to 230 patients, including 129 subjects with IHD.

After verification of coronarosclerosis all patients were divided into 2 groups: 1 - yakuts (n=45, mean age 53,2±14,52); 2 - russians (n=45, mean age 53,7±14,5).

Conclusion. Our survey found the following prevalence of CA atherosclerosis pathology isolated or combined in the1st and 2nd groups: left anterior descending artery (LAD) - 79 and 86,7% accordingly, then the right coronary artery (RCA) - 56 and 77,8%, circumflex artery (CA) – 32,5 and 71,1%, obtuse margin artery (OMA) – 11,6 and 31,1%, diagonal artery (DA) – 11,6 and 2,2% and left main trunk (LMT) – 9,3 and 2,2%.

Multiple affection of CA was observed more frequently as compared with the isolated one. The narrowing of one vessel was seen in 42 and 20% of the 1st and 2nd groups accordingly, two vessels affected - 26 and 17,8%, 3> vessels – 32,5 and 62,2% accordingly.

In the 1st and 2nd groups the occlusion rate of LAD amounted 38 and 30,8%, RCA – 8,3 and 51,4%, CA – 14 and 3,1%, OMA – 20 and 14,3%, LMT occlusion in 1 patient (25%) in the 1st group.

Thus, LAD is affected more frequently alike in both groups. Suggesting less severity the CA affection is more proportious to yakuts.
