Ethnic peculiarities of the North native inhabitants health
Introduction: The level of free blood cholesterol did not show seasonal dynamics in people of genetically relative northern nationalities, the inhabitants of climatically and geographically similar areas. We studied the mechanism of this phenomenon.
Study design: We examined native people of the North (the Evenks and the Evens) during two seasons – winter and spring.
Methods: Biochemical, thin layer chromatography
Results: During low temperature influence period (-60oC) we revealed hyperalphacholesterolemia on the background of hypercholesterolemia in the Evenks. We marked the increase of cholesterol ethers, lisophosphatydilcholines, cholesterol-linolate, the decrease of phosphatydilcholines. Hypercholesterolemia in the Evens was accompanied by the increase of cholesterol in high density lipoproteins and the decrease of cholesterol ethers. This confirms the increase of the share of nascent disc-shape particles of high density lipoproteins. The increase of cholesterol-oleate share reflects the increase of intra-cellular formation of cholesterol ethers activity.
Conclusion: We found the presence of different mechanisms for supporting stable level of free blood cholesterol in the Evenks and the Evens in the most extreme period of a year.
