EVALUATION OF THE STATE OF MICROANOMALOUS DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN’S POPULATION IN RELATION TO LIVING CONDITIONS

Scientific Center for Medical Ecology (Irkutsk)

In 1982 underground a nuclear explosion for peaceful purposes “Rift-3” was conducted in Osinsky district in Irkutsk region 50 km northwards of district centre of Osa. For many years the territory and population of the district ran the danger of antropogenic loads to one of which we may relate radioactive pollution with induced radionuclides.

Structural defects - microanomalous development induced by abnormalities of embryonic differentiation – may be frequent manifestations of many genetic and congenital disorders.

The analysis of incidence of microanomalies in development of children gives ground to divide them into 3 groups: with permissible number of microanomalies, with moderate detection and with dystrophic status.

In all studied groups the most frequent microanomalies are: “sandalform” fissure, high palate, clinodactyly, asymmetric auricle. When studying patients with multiple stigmata of development we paid attention that those microanomalies that had high and moderate detection were combined.

The highest percent of children who had minimum quantity of developmental microanomalies was registered in district centre of Osa – 49%, whereas the lowest – 37.5% – in Borokhal settlement. Thus, specific gravity of children with permissible quantity of developmental microanomalies was determined in the farthermost settlement from explosion epicenter.

Distribution of children with developmental abnormalitis has a contrary character. Such children mostly are registered in Borokhal settlement – 22%, whereas in district centre of Osa – 16%. Thus the greatest number of children with higher level of stigmatization is registered in settlements situated closer to explosion epicenter.

Microanomalies of development are polymorphous and may be markers in evaluation of health state in children and indicate possible occurring of analogous abnormalitiesin in internal organs.
