Complex investigation of peculiarities of functioning of systems of the organism under conditions of Siberia and the North as well as processes of adaptation tî these conditions testifies to significant shifts in regulatory systems and organs.

We have analyzed prevalence of clinical signs of the secondary immune deficiency (SID) and signs of mental health disturbance (SMHD) in various contingents of the population of Siberia, Yakutiya, Crimea and Primorsky Kray. Risk groups for SID and SMHD were formed according to data of developed by us in the course an epidemiological screening. More than 5000 persons have been examined.

Conducted investigations have shown differences in condition of immune system in various regions what is associated with ecological situation, complex of climate-geographical factors as well as degree of man-made effects. Regional dependence of prevalence of clinical signs of SID has been shown, what has identified the percent of persons constituting risk group. Simpheropol – 18%, Ussurysk – 24,4%, Yakutsk – 26,1%, Tomsk – 33,2%, north of Tomsk District – 39,3%.

In addition to transregional aspect important role in formation of immune deficiency is played by industrial factors. So, under the same climate-geographical conditions of Siberia prevalence of signs of immune deficiency and signs of mental health disturbance differs reliably in workers of ecologically favorable industries and under conditions of action of industrial adverse factors.

High correlation has been revealed between signs of mental health disturbance and secondary immune deficiency from 31,5 to 76,3% for various contingents and regions interconditionality of which increases simultaneously with acceleration of extremity of ecological impact and psychological disadaptation.

Thus, influence of the environment on processes of mental adaptation and immune defense is determined by a complex of bioclimatic and social factors, which in regions of Siberia and North are characterized by exceptionally high requirements to adaptive possibilities of the human organism.
