Cytokines are known to be one of the most important cell producents of the immune system, which function as its mediator and secure and secure an inter-cellular cooperation. Immune response character to any stress-factor of different nature depends on the prevailing participation of the clones of T-lymphocyte helpers of I and II types which are distinguished according to the spectrum of cytokines produced. The aim of this work was the assessment of the immune response trend taking into account autoantibody production in vibration-induced disease (VID) in dependence on the disease expression degree.

Materials and methods The immunological examinations have been performed in the persons of three groups. The first group consisted of 28 patients with VID of I degree. The second group included 29 patients with VID of II degree. The third group (control group) consisted of 29 practically healthy persons who were metal workers-assemblers, they were exposed to a local vibration up to 10 years. Cytokine levels have been studied in blood sera (IL-1; IL-2; IL-4; 2-FHO, IL-10) and the autoantibody levels to cardiolipin using the method of the solid-phase immunoferment analysis.

Results A higher IL-1 content has been revealed in the patients of the first group compared with the second and third groups (p<0,01)based on the variable analysis of three groups according to the criteria of Mann-Witny. The patients with VID of I degree have shown a higher production of 2-FHÎ relatively to the patients with VID of II degree (p<0,01). A higher production of IL-4 (p<0,01) was found to be in the persons of the gecond group relatively to the control group and IL-10 (p<0,01) relatively to the first group. While determining antibodies to cardiolipin their presence has been revealed in the patients with VID of I and II degrees; however, the third group has not shown the antibodies tested. The higher IL-2 level was found in the patients of both groups.

Conclusions The analysis of the findings allowed to suppose that cytokinc synthesis of pro-inflamatory types (IL-1, 2-FHO) prevailed in the patients with VID of I degree and anti-inflammatory types (Il-4, Il-2) in the patients with VID of II degree. The disbalance revealed between pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines and the presense of gutogntibodies to cardiolipin in the patients with vibration – induced diseases allowed to suppose a possible participation of autoimmune responses with their increased role in disease process at the definite stage of the development of vibration-induced pathology.
