GEOPHYSICAL PREDICTION OF THE VARIATION OF PARAMETERS OF SEISMIC RISK AT THE VARIATIONS OF TEMPERATURE IN CRYOLITHIS ZONE

Dzhurik V.

Institute of the Earth’s Crust SB RAS (Irkutsk)

Consideration is being given to comparative analysis of large earthquake effects for the areas located in different climatic zones of Siberia and the northeast of Asia. The basic trends of macroseismic effects have been found and confirm qualitatively and quantitatively a differential attenuation of seismic intensity with distance for continuous and insular permafrost zones.
Thereupon and from the geophysical data, dynamic physical-geological models of the most probable types of near-surface and deep-seated inhomogeneities of the cryolithic zone have been developed. The theoretical calculation data for these models reflect the extent to which initial seismic signals are affected by the variations of permafrost temperature with its probable degradation under the natural, man-made and industrially produced effects.
Dynamics of seismic risk at probable variations of temperature in the cryolithic zone has been for the first time studied from the accelerograms of the change of basic parameters of seismic effects, their spectra, and frequency characteristics. The first-stage investigation technique has been realized in the study of dynamics of seismic risk of the Muya basin – one of the largest geological structures of the Baikal seismic zone, a seismic potential of which is estimated at 9 and 10 units.
