Abstracts

Library is to the important components of resources of a modern higher educational institution. Information resources of high school library include fund of printed documents, a number of collections on electronic carriers, аудио- and video data, databases (DB) of own generation and on-line access to a DB of various manufacturers. Wide introduction of new information technologies in a library practice modifies traditional processes of a supply with information, and a wide spectrum of software products enables to create in libraries new services.

There was a necessity for creations of knowledge bases on the certain themes. For example, from year to year at our university all lot of students is trained in the Kazakh language. During 1-2 years they study Russian language, including carry out tasks on studying and use of various styles of speech. Therefore it is expedient to create the knowledge base containing the citations from different literary works, official documents, etc., constantly to fill up with its new copies. Other knowledge base can be created, having taken for a basis one more group of repeating inquiries of students, are proverbs and a saying in different languages on various themes (health, sports, friendship, etc.).

Thus, in library of the Karaganda State Technical University the organization of the resource center uniting various knowledge bases in Protégé-3.0 environment is possible. Simplicity of work with interface Protégé-3.0, and convenience which it gives to experts on a subject domain and the operators entering data far from detailed acquaintance to the software, gives ample opportunities of use of this appendix in library.
