Abstracts

A specialized GIS-type graphic shell IMPWorld has been developed in the Tsunami Laboratory of the ICMMG SD RAS. The shell is intended for maintenance of geophysical databases, retrieval and visualization of data and carrying out numerical experiments. The shell allows to work with digital models of Earth relief, satellite images of the Earth’s surface of different resolution and 3D models of buildings and engineering constructions. The shell provides convenient interactive tools for handling of maps, models and data and gives to the user the wide spectrum of options for data retrieval, visualization and modeling. It its functions, the IMPWorld shell is similar to the well-known GoogleEarth shell and can be used for visualization of any space-referenced geophysical information having. The IPMWorld shell has been developed in the Microsoft Visual Studio 8.0 environment, driven by .NET 2.0 and DirectX9.0с and intended to run under OS Windows 2000, XP or Vista.
