An information logical approach (ILA) is supposed to provide a new possibility for theoretical analysis of systems, which show are uncertain situations (incomplete information) and/or unique data (small samples). We have worked out MS DOS system for information theory analysis of genetic data with PCs.

This project objective is elaboration of a distributed information system with such characteristics as extensibility, integrability and possibility of working in heterogeneous environment. Due to evolution of the information technologies the system was revised using new advantages of modern software. The new computation system is based on the IP-protocol, client-server and Internet-technologies. The data are rendered to the user as a dynamically developed HTTP document that allows the end-user to work either on company basis (Intranet) or to use the Global Net (Internet).

We use language of the requests SQL, being technological standard for relational RDBMS. Both the data and the procedures for their processing are kept in the database. Such a decision gives the possibility of executing calculations just on the server of database, raising a speed of work and minimizing a network traffic, as far as only results of calculations, but not the data themselves will be sent to network. Client software is realized on the base of language Java, using all advantages of modern object-oriented technologies, WWW, Internet/Intranet. Advantages of such an approach are as follows: 1) Possibility of starting either client or server software on any platform because both virtual Java-machine and user web interface are realized for almost all operating systems. 2) Possibility of functioning by means of Web-browser. 3) Possibility of granting a service for processing data sent via Internet.

It should be noted that the stated approach is sufficiently common and can be used in other scientific and educational tasks. In particular, we propose the system developed for processing text information from CHEDIBASE – a review, abstract and bibliography database on the Chernobyl NPP accident consequences.
