DATABASE OF RARE AND PROTECTED SPECIES OF PLANTS IN OMSK REGION

Sviridenko B.F., Belkin V.A., Kostarev S.V.

OmSPU (Omsk)

In 1998-2000 we received the first information and developed the database for collecting the information and forming unified information source on taxonomic diversity, landscape, ecotopic and phitocenotic contacts of rare and protected species of plants in Omsk Region. Our research is an independent part of the research topics "Protection of species diversity of plants in Omsk Region" and "Red Book of Omsk Region".

Relation model of database was created by using specialized means of CASE (ERwin). Database was developed on the basis of the technology - "client - server", where the server is InterBase and client is geoinformation system on the basis of ArcView. The first data input was conducted with the using of MS Access.

Nowadays the database has 20 interconnected information objects including 12 developed classifiers. The other information objects contain the information about taxonomic, biological, phitocenotic and geographical characteristic of studied species. Taxonomic characteristics include Russian and Latin names of species, families, orders, classes and divisions of plants including the widespread synonyms. Biological characteristics are limited by indication of phenological phase (for and seed plants), size, age structure and are of studied populations or their fragments. Phitocenotic characteristics allow to evaluate the contacts of studied plant species with the types of plants' associations, examined on the level of group association or formation. Geographical characteristics create an idea about species location and about their zone, landscape and administrative distribution. Using means of geographical information allow to represent the data in electronic cartographic variant and to define geographical coordinates of location.

Our database is included into the Main Database of System of Nature Management, Omsk Region. In the future we are planning to create the database of general species diversity of plants on the examined territory.

Note. Abstracts are published in author's edition
