Diversity of the Fauna

Taxonomy of Cladocera was always intricate and changeable. With the advent of new methods in taxonomic researches has cleared a position of many disputable taxa. The available keys and species lists of Cladocera fauna in Uzbekistan are out-dated. The represented guide is a result of inventory of the current state of Cladocera (Crustacea) inhabit waterbodies of Uzbekistan. The electronic version of the key in HTMLHelp format (*.cht) is developed as the manual and is used for training hydrobiologists and ecologists at Chair of Ecology of Biology Faculty of National University of Uzbekistan. The guide consists of the key for identification of main families: Daphniidae, Chydoridae, Ilyocryptidae, Macrothricidae. In the current version original figures, diagnosis, morphology, biology and distribution of Daphniidae based on results of own researches are given. Currently, this guide (in HTML format) is being arranged on the site http://uznix.narod.ru is started. The work on the English and Uzbek versions is under way.
