Diversity of the Fauna

From the year 2000 the researches of biological variety of dendrophilous aphides (Homoptera: Aphidoidea) of East Europe (in boundaries of an european part former USSR) are executed at the Department of Zoology. They implement within the framework of the joint project of the Byelorussian State University and Zoological institute of RAS on analysis of frame and genesis of fauna of separate groups of insects - phytophagous (aphides, leafhoppers, chrysomelids, curculionids), which was supported by the grants of RFFI and BFFI. For accumulation and subsequent analysis of the data a number of specialized computer databases is used. Some of them, in particular, for registration of the collectings of aphides and their trophic connections with entomophagous arthropods, were developed several years earlier, have undergone serious refinement and actively are filled up. To the present time the largest data arrays are accumulated for such locales as Byelorussia, North of European Russia (Hibiny), Baltic (Kaliningrad district). The similar activities are executed for other groups of insects – phytophagous mentioned above.
