GEO-INFORMATION SYSTEM «SIBERIAN CLIMATE HISTORY», AS AN INSTRUMENT FOR A SPATIAL-TEMPORAL ANALYSIS OF CLIMATE CHANGES

Vysotskaya G.S.

Institute of computational modelling (Krasnoyarsk)

From the middle 19th century an average temperature of the Earth surface increased 0.3ºC, that is one of the main arguments in favor of the global warming hypothesis. Such warming is not critical for human beings, but for many species such variations may be conductive for widening or decrease of their natural habitats. It is clear after preliminary analysis of local tendencies, fulfilled by us and other authors, that it is impossible to make categorical conclusion on a global general warming. A systematic analysis both a climate and biological data is necessary. In this connection in the Institute of Computational Modelling a geo-information system «Siberian climate history», intended for a joint spatial-temporal analysis of climatic, dendrochronological and spore-pollen soil analysis data. Software was designed and a preliminary analysis of collected databases was done. A set of maps was received, which shows a spatial distribution of areas both with statistical reliable tendencies of increasing or decreasing of temperature and without them. The main attention at present work is given to features of a trend distribution in different period of 20th century in Siberia in summer season, which is more important for climate influence to vegetation.

Maps of a distribution of average summer temperature and precipitation for different periods of the 20th century at the territory of Russia will be adduced in the report.

In addition to an independent interest, received results allow to formulate requirements to collecting biological data and to estimate reliability of global tendencies conclusions, which are done by data, local in time and space.
