Soil Ecosystems

Information system "Soil - Nitrogen - Carbon"

The time has come in soil studies and practical person to switch attention from making the separate models or complexes of parameter models of under study objects to creation united information exploratory and management systems. Information accumulated for decennial events of soil studies, reach such volume that becomes to be unclaimed on the strength of difficulty of visual and manual processing. Development of computing machinery has caused for itself possibility to automate complex, stale process of processing a big amount given different type. It was conducted analysis of existing program packages of conduct of databases. Our choice is stopped on Microsoft Access, to the program for functioning (working) with relational databases.

Relational database consists of 19 tables. Moreover, each of them is an independent database or simple type, which record consist of two requisitions, or relational, consist of several tables. Tables of the first type execute functions of an codify, chipsets and corresponding factor names are recorded in them. To them pertain: "Regions", "Farms", "Forest and steppe island", "Natural areas", "Types of ground", "Branches of ground", "Species of soil", "Varieties of ground", "Birth of ground", "Sorts of ground", "Depths", "Horizons", "S", "Land", "Cultures", "Authors". To tables of the second type pertain "Main", "Crop capacity" (each record consists of 11 floors and connected with 5 tables), "Authorship given" (9 floors, it has relationship with 3 tables). These tables contain complex information, which can be used in different practical purposes, for instance, creation of different micromodel applied nature.

Databank is formed on material of archives of the chair of soil science of Krasgay and soil division EastSibNniiGiprozem (stationary and rout field studies, large-scale soil examination), as well as on published material. Covered all wide-spread on agricultural territory of Krasnoyarsk region (on natural areas) genetic types of ground, but within the type - species, types, varieties on the profile before the depth not less than 50 cm for last 50 - 60 years refer to. Initial filling of base is conducted, array of data includes near 9,5 thousand cuts. Led work on making a complex of models, describing circulation of nitrogen and carbon in agroecological sistem of Average Siberia.

Functioning is executed by the support RFFI and Krasnoyarsk KFN (grant ¹ 99-04-96016), on Integration project WITH ÐÀÍ ¹ 67 and on the task of Committee on land resources and organization of land exploitation of Krasnoyarsk region.
