Creation of mathematical model and numerical solution of the fundamental problem of gas lubrication

As it is evident from the parametric analysis of the complete Navier-Stokes equations for gas, taking into account the technical data on the contemporary gas bearings, the basic equations for solution of the problems of gas lubrication are those of 3D compressible boundary layer. Using this mathematical model, the authors have obtained the differential equation for determination of pressure within lubrication layer (generalized Reynolds equation). For numerical solution of the equation obtained the spectral method is applied, as well as method of matched asymptotic expansions. As an illustration, here is presented an example of numerical calculation.
