The unsteady processes in complex piping systems are usually described in the context of the mixed problem for the system of the hyperbolic equations (such as the water hammer equations) defined on the oriented connected graph (so called complex), which schematize the researched hydro-system, with algebraic or differential relationships at vertexes of the complex which simulate the operations of locking-and-regulating fittings and other devices.

The calculation of such systems requires appreciable computational resources. The problems arise often in practice which require solutions in real time operation mode, for example, at on-line control of hydro-system operation mode. The most perspective way of solution of this problem seems to be the creation of the "fast" simplified models on the basis of lumped-parameter systems.

The algorithm of such models' making based on replacement of the initial distributed parameter system by model consisting of a combination of blocks taking into account elastic and inertial properties of pipelines is offered.

The results of numerical experiments are given, indicating that the unsteady processes in the pipeline are being described enough precisely by such a model with minimum number of parameters being equal seven. At appropriate choice of parameters the offered approach is similar to a method of lines for solution of partial equations.
