Interaction between fluid and structurer dynamics is a interesting phenomen in CFD problems. Numerical simulation of a such interaction problems demands very high computer performance, since fluid and structure dynamics must be solved concurrently owing to their interaction. Using computer cluster, a higher performance can result. We have realized distributed parallel computing for the simulation under the Message Passing Interface.
The present work is a three-dimensional oil fluid motion in a bearing chamber interacting with a rubber seal at the borders. The fluid flow is turbulent and vibrations of the drive shaft affect the pressure and the velocity of the fluid.
Presented are a analytical model of the problem, a tubulence approach for fluid flow and the numerical method for solving the problem. Numerical results are presented and some theoretical results are compared with practical experiments and measurements.
