Occupational health
The realization of the program of development of gas-condensate deposits (GCD) of the North requires the creation of optimum hygienic conditions for new comers.
Therefore the purpose of the present research is the estimation of the influence of climatic, industrial, social, psychological factors on workers’ health at periodical professional journey and expedition works for perfection of the system of their medical-social service. The following tasks are solved: estimation of production process at periodical professional journey and expedition works; study and prognosis estimation of workers’ morbidity; study on workers’ nutrition and its conditions; estimation of social-psychological parameters of worker adaptation to the Northern conditions. Hygienic, social-hygienic, social-psychological, statistical and mathematical methods are used in our research.
The results of the research have shown that transmeridional movements to new climatic and social conditions effect on all the functions and systems of human organism.
According to the received data the following aspects should be taken into account when organizing work in the North: expedition work can be applied for the works of limited duration, only for some trades and specialties, mainly of high qualification. Periodical professional journey work is applicable for workers of basic trades engaged in GCD development and operation when granting constant residence in basic towns of the North.
Disease incidence with temporary disability among the workers of operational services makes 55.0 by cases, 532.0 by days, and in building divisions 96 cases and 1152 days of disability. Respiratory, bone-muscular, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal diseases and trauma are the leading ones in the morbidity structure at the existing level of medical-social service
Persons arrived to the North have to adapt to nutrition traditional for the North, to activate quickly lipolitic enzymes. Native inhabitants have this ability. Their enzyme systems are adapted to protein-fatty nutrition. Among the new comers endocrine, digestive diseases and the diseases caused by metabolic disorders make 17.4 cases per 1,000 populations (for comparison: in native population it is 4.0 cases).
For the workers of gas deposits the optimization of psychological adaptation to new residence conditions is especially important. It is more important rather than the adaptation to extreme climatic-geographic conditions.
Inferences: 1. The rationalization of work modes and rest at periodical professional journey and expedition works allows reducing morbidity rate and atonement for adaptation of the workers in the North. 2. Respiratory, bone-muscular and cardiovascular diseases are the leading ones in the morbidity structure of the workers. 3. The optimization of psychological adaptation of the workers to the Northern conditions and nutrition correction are especially important.
