PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION OF PUPILS IS THE PRIORITY TASK OF NOWADAYS

The urgency of the task is caused by the adverse manpower prognosis for the nearest future and health impairment of the graduates of schools.

The reforms of comprehensive schools carried out in the country that related to the introduction of professional training in the senior classes can in some measure promote the problem solution. In turn professional orientation of pupils in the senior classes raises a number of problems connected with pupils’ health, creation of training conditions adequate to up-to-date requirements, technological aspect of the pedagogical process. Their elimination will require complex approach and participation of the authority and business representatives, hygienists, and participants of educational process.

In Novokuznetsk of Kemerovo region under the initiative of Committee on Education and Science of City Administration the scientific workers of Research Institute for Complex Problems of Hygiene and Occupational Diseases have elaborated the specific complex program “Health and Education”. Ideological essence of the program is preservation of physical and mental health of the graduates of comprehensive schools. The program methodology is based on the system approach to creation of healthy environment applying concrete methods: social-hygienic, clinical-physiological, hygienic, psychological, pedagogical etc. The main purpose of the program is integrated dynamic estimation of pupils’ health, revelation of the reasons and representation of the information to the users for decision making. For this purpose within the framework of functioning city program of social-hygienic monitoring of public health and environment the information subsystem “Health and Education” is scientifically substantiated and elaborated. Functionally four blocks “Health of Pupils and Teachers”, “Training Conditions”, “Psychological Health” and “Pedagogical Monitoring” are realized in the subsystem. The functioning of the subsystem blocks within the framework of monitoring allows to carry out hygienic estimation of organization of educational process in its various innovation forms and, first of all, in đrofessional orientation of pupils. It also promotes data collection for studying functionalities and estimation of pupils’ health, for the analysis and estimation of the efficiency of medical-psychological-pedagogical help, determination of number of the pupils of the senior classes in đrofessional training and estimation of its efficiency according to health criterion etc.

Thus the tool for the realization of complex study on the influence of pedagogical process on physical and mental health, for scientific substantiation of training of the pupils of the senior classes in various educational institutions in view of overtension of training, hygienic requirements, person features, and also professional orientation of the future manpower is developed. For effective functioning of the offered model the formation of appropriate normative-reference base will need.
