Stability of roll waves of maximal amplitude

Shallow water theory of roll wave generation in open channels and tubes with elastic walls is considered. The modulation equations for nonlinear wave trains are derived and their stability criterion is formulated. An asimptotic representation of the stability region for roll waves of maximal amplitute is given.
